Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PDFBeam iOS application ("App", "Service"). By downloading, creating an account, or continuing to use the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of the service
PDFBeam allows users to upload PDF files, generate unique sharing links on our servers, and convert those links into QR codes within the app. The Service includes email registration, login, password reset, Sign in with Apple, profile management, file listing, file upload, and optional premium packages available through in-app purchase.
2. Eligibility and account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- To create an account, you may either register with your name, email address, and password, or sign in with Sign in with Apple.
- You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- If you notice unauthorized access, notify us immediately at support@pdfqr.net.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Upload content that infringes copyright, privacy, or other third-party rights
- Share illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, or misleading content
- Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempt to disrupt the security, integrity, or performance of the Service
- Attempt unauthorized access, automated scraping, or interference with our systems
- Access another user's account without permission
4. User content
PDF files you upload and the sharing links generated from them ("User Content") remain yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and generate sharing links and QR codes from your User Content solely to provide the Service.
You are solely responsible for your uploaded content. You represent that your content complies with applicable laws and that you have the right to share it. We may remove content that violates these Terms or suspend or terminate your account without prior notice.
5. Sharing links and QR codes
Unique URLs and QR codes generated for your uploaded PDFs may allow anyone who scans or accesses the link to view the file. You are responsible for how and with whom you share these links. Publicly sharing a link may limit your ability to control access to the content.
6. Intellectual property
All rights in the App, including its interface, branding, logo, and software, belong to us or our licensors. You are granted a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
7. Service changes and interruptions
We reserve the right to update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical issues, or security concerns. We will try to provide notice when possible but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
8. Premium packages and subscriptions
PDFBeam offers premium packages that unlock additional features. Premium purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system and managed using RevenueCat to validate and maintain your subscription status.
- Pricing: prices, billing periods, and included features are displayed in the app before purchase.
- Payment: all payments are charged to your Apple ID account. We do not process or store your payment card details.
- Auto-renewal: if you purchase a subscription, it automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: you can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device).
- Restore purchases: if you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore previous purchases using the restore option in the app.
- Refunds: refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies. Contact Apple Support for billing or refund inquiries.
- Free trial: if a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable under Apple's terms.
We may change premium package features or pricing. Any changes to subscription pricing will take effect in accordance with Apple's policies and will be communicated as required.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDFBeam and its developers shall not be liable for any data loss, content loss, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the preceding 12 months.
11. Account termination
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time through the app or by contacting support. Upon termination, your data may be deleted except where retention is required by law.
Deleting your PDFBeam account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription. You must cancel subscriptions separately through your Apple ID account settings to avoid future charges.
12. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party services that are subject to their own terms and privacy policies, including:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store, and In-App Purchases (Apple Media Services Terms)
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management (RevenueCat Terms)
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of them is at your own discretion and subject to their respective terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. For significant changes, we will provide notice through the app or website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
